EVENTS
12 students will be selected to take part in Project Understanding. There will be 4-5 events during the year—an opening event, a local Shabbat dinner and service, a Catholic mass and community service event and an Interfaith Seder. The highlight of the program is a 10-day Israel experience that will take place during Presidents Week each year.
ISRAEL EXPERIENCE
The Israel experience is led by J2 Adventures, who we have used for the past several years. They provide an amazing tour guide. From our end, a Catholic clergy member and a Jewish professional will lead Project Understanding. There will always be male and female leaders.
COSTS
The major cost is about $5,000 towards the 10 days in Israel. The fee includes airfare, hotels, most meals, tours, and guides. We will collect an additional $150 for tips for the guide and driver. In addition, there will be a cost for the Shabbat dinner for any family members joining the student. Project Understanding covers the cost of the student.
